Alba came to us as a stray, and was in our care for over a year before he found a home. He was a very scared boy when he came in and was quite reactive towards men in particular. Because of his reactivity, it was difficult finding a good home for him. Our staff and volunteers worked with him relentlessly last year to improve his behavior. Over time, his reactivity improved tremendously! He has since been adopted and even went home with a man! We are so proud of his growth and it's safe to say we had a few staff members and volunteers in tears when he got to go home!
Plum had a really rough start with us. When she was brought into our shelter as a stray, we realized immediately that she was pregnant and about to have kittens! Not even a week into her stay at the shelter, she went into labor. We immediately found a foster home for her and her kittens. Despite being in foster care, Plum's health started to quickly decline. We rushed her to the emergency vet, where she then continued to stay 4 nights until she was healthy enough to return to us. Because of her health concerns, we didn't want to put Plum back in the regular kennels. Our executive director quickly offered up her office up for Plum to heal in. It didn't take long to realize how sweet and amazing she was! She recovered quickly after getting lots of love as an office cat, and was adopted quickly after being put up for adoption!
